🧙🏻♂️ How to tell stories that stand out?
We can use the best frameworks for creating stories, but as Kris reminded us, "your audience thinks about themselves even if you tell a story about yourself.
What if you could tell a better story about yourself and your business?
Kris Achten, a marketer and storyteller, is an expert in crafting stories that stick. Recently, we had a chat and he shared his favourite frameworks for telling better stories.
He believes that stories can make a difference by shaping how we perceive information, connect with others, find our place in the world, take action, and survive.
We can use the best frameworks for creating stories, but as Kris reminded us, "your audience thinks about themselves even if you tell a story about yourself. They will always think: how does it apply to me, how does it relate to my journey, and what can I learn from this?"
You can find more story frameworks described by Kris here and here 😊
During our conversation, he mentioned Jenga storytelling as one of his favorite storytelling frameworks.
💡Storytelling framework of Mr. Beast
Mr. Beast uses Jenga storytelling in all of his videos. He begins by showing the end of the story, grabbing the viewer's attention. After that, he explains the whole story, leading up to the end.
We know that Jenga blocks will fall but we don't know how.
The framework
(by Kris Achten)
1. Identify core message: Determine your key lesson or message.
2. Craft the ending: Envision an intriguing and impactful conclusion.
3. Introduce the ending upfront: Reveal the ending within 30 seconds to capture attention.
4. Build suspense: Provide hints and details that lead to the revealed outcome.
5. Uncover the journey: Gradually narrate the events, challenges, and decisions.
6. Highlight key moments: Emphasize significant turning points for depth and emotion.
7. Provide insights: Connect the journey to valuable takeaways for your audience.
8. Reinforce the ending: Remind the audience of the outcome and its impact.
