🤡 How to get noticed?
Julia from TrueSix helps companies get noticed, and she shows how to do so when attending conferences.
Would you agree that after meeting me in person, you would be more eager to open this email?
During our chat, Julia Gifford, a co-founder of the content marketing and PR agency TrueSix, mentioned that.
She is attending conferences to build personal relationships and establish future collaborations. Having spoken with someone beforehand makes it easier to pitch your idea or story, as they will recognize your name and be more likely to read your email amongst the many unknown emails they receive daily.
Attending a big conference such as Web Summit can be overwhelming due to the sheer number of people attending. To stand out, Julia's mom suggested that she "put something shiny on her head to get noticed". Her mom's words stayed with her.
She bought a crown from an artist Brigita Stroda who is making a moderinized version of Latvian national crowns.
The first day both Julia and her co-founder Krista didn't know with whom to talk or how to get people's attention. The next day they turned on the fairy lights they had in the crowns and got people coming to them and asking questions.
- "What do you do?”
- "We help companies get noticed, and we demonstrate how to do so.”
Some people now recognize them at other events due to their crowns.
