💌 How to get known?
With the new niche Jeff Felten attracts the right audience and grows his business.
I had a nice chat with Jeff Felten who is an e-mail marketer focused on welcome sequences.
I'm niching down with my offer of personal branding and it was very accommodating to hear how Jeff niched down to gain his focus and clients.
💡How to get known?
Jeff started as a copywriter in 2018 - writing copy for websites and content in general. In 2021 he decided to focus on email marketing. Still it felt like being too broad.
In Autumn 2022 Jeff niched down to talk only about welcome sequences. He found that service-based professionals don't have enough information about email marketing and that's how he could stand out in the crowd of email marketers on Twitter as The Welcome Sequence Guy.
With the new niche he attracts the right audience and grows his business. He teaches that “welcome emails are like first dates” – if you get the first impression right, you gain trust from your subscribers and lead to a sale.
In order to niche down Jeff used the framework of Rory Vaden - the Sheehan's Wall. If you feel like you're doing too many things and you're unknown in your industry, you need to find focus and break through the wall with being specific with your offer and skills.
Jeff is focusing on getting his recognition as The Welcome Sequence Guy by going to podcasts and creating content on Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
