🥸 How a self-given alias can improve your branding?
We all know that there are famous singers who come up with stage names. Do entrepreneurs create their alter egos? Learn how a self-given alias helps Lee Launches, Bubble developer.
Today I want to share a simple idea - a self-given alias.
💡How a self-given alias can improve your branding?
We all know that there are famous singers who come up with stage names. It helps them act upon their new identity and extends their personality from the real life persona. It's like alter ego that helps you to act differently.
Do entrepreneurs create their alter egos?
Yes 🙂
It's a good way how you can differentiate yourself from others.
I had a nice Twitter Space with Lee Launches who is a Bubble developer on a mission to help you launch your no-code projects. It's not a coincidence that his “surname” is “Launches”.
In 2020 he decided to finally launch all his ideas that he had in his mind for 3 weeks. Inspired by Jason Zook aka jasondoesstuff and by launching every day, Lee Hills became Lee Launches.
The best part about his new personality is that everyone knows him as Lee Launches - the guy who is launching his and his clients' projects.
Examples
When I started my Twitter account, I got a nickname “The Idea Girl”. I used it for a while because it allowed me to create different content and experiment.
Other entrepreneurs with their alias:
Ayush Chaturvedi - The Freedom Guy
Jeff Felten - The Welcome Sequences Guy
Mike Cardona - The Automation Alchemist
The benefits
Reinvention - you can reinvent your personality and start something new. Ayush wanted to be free from the corporate world and create his own way of working and earning money (=The Freedom Guy).
Differentiation - you can stand out form a crowded market and be remembered with your unique brand. Jeff was an email marketer among many. When he started using The Welcome Sequences Guy, people started texting him about his help.
Branding - your new alias become your identity and that's how you create your personal brand and associations to others. If you think about automations, then you think Mike Cardona (=The Automation Alchemist).
