🤩 3 lessons from master community leader
Alex really likes people and for years he has helped hundreds of people without expecting nothing in return. And now he runs a successful business because of that.
Do you know what's the secret of a good personal brand?
Good personality 😃
When people talk or read about personal branding, it's most of the time about the image you can create with having professional photos, engaging copy and top-notch design.
But there is something that you cannot create artificially.
💡Interest in people
Last week I had a conversation with Alex Antoszek who owns his Notion consultancy firm and he's leading three Notion communities - Notion subreddit community, Thomas Frank's community and European Notion meet-ups. He really likes people and for years he has helped hundreds of people without expecting nothing in return. And now he runs a successful business because of that.
The framework
I'll share his observations of how to build a good personality so you attract people:
You can be a good speaker and leader but people won't see you as a good community leader if you don't have a genuine empathy in people.
It's important to make everyone feel welcomed. You're a part of the community and not the centre of it. Being a community leader means that you serve other people and help those that are one step behind you.
Alex values listening more than speaking. By listening carefully you can craft good questions. If you're interested in other people, they'll be interested in you.
If you keep others in mind, you can build good connections and genuine relationships. Although it sounds simple, yet not everyone can do it because it requires time. There are no growth hacks for this 😅
Some examples:
If you go to a conference, talk with speakers.
If you create content, interact with others who create content.
If somebody writes a comment, answer the comment.
Personal brand is building relationships to scale 😊

Share a short video of other creators and celebrities and add your value. Here is a really good example from Jay Clouse.
📚 Book
I read a book Hype Yourself by Lucy Werner. I really like the title because that's what we need to market ourselves - hype! Also she shared a strategy to get publications - monitor #JournoRequest & #PRRequest on Twitter and apply.

My next interview will be with Dalton Danks who helps entrepreneurs to get comfortable speaking English on camera and he also knows how to get clients on LinkedIn.
